Camp 98...more like Cabin 98. We arrive
at the cabin on a beautiful, bright and sunny day. We did not expect it to be such a
nice weekend but Mother Nature was gracious this May Long weekend. As we drive up to
the cabin, I begin to notice that my truck is starting to
sink as though I were in quicksand. What a way to start the weekend, stuck
in saturated land. I guess having rained the past week the rain water had no where
to go. Guests soon arrive and were warned about the conditions. We
had several ideas about getting the trucks out but none worked .
Eventually the rest of the guests came and with all our manpower and other vehicles we got
ours out and left out to dry on the highway . Luckily one of our guests had an eye
for dry deadwood, no, not her significant other . We managed to build a fire
and in case the fire got out of hand we had this handpump ,
which didn't work. Wiener roast, yahoo! Someone had the craving for popcorn. JiffyPop was pulled out and
slapped onto the bar-b-q , after several hours they finally gave up and threw it into the fire . The fire
dance was lead by this fine gentleman and behold our fire had grown . The weekend was filled with music, laughter , and good friends . Near the nights end there was a line up at the facility.
This dude was asked to pick up the pace . Others could not wait . Spring is just around the corner and it looks like another
excursion to the cabin will be made. Cabin 99!!
